Add a supplementary card

Getting a supplementary card (also known as authorized user card) for your partner or another member of your household can help you maximize your rewards. Plus, your statement includes an itemized list of transactions so you can keep track of how much each person is spending. Remember that you will be responsible for all transactions made by the supplementary cardholder you add to your account. To request a supplementary card, sign in to Scotia OnLine®.

Set up pre-authorized payments1and pay bills automatically with your Scotiabank credit card. From utilities to gym memberships or other recurring payments, set up pre-authorized payments on your Scotiabank credit card so your bills will be paid on time. No need to worry about due dates or missed payments. Plus, if you earn cash back or points with your card, you’ll earn the rewards you want even faster.

Please contact your service providers to set up automatic pre-authorized payments on your credit card. If your card is renewed or replaced, remember to advise the merchant or retailer with whom you have set up pre-authorized payments and provide them with your updated account details (i.e., new account number and expiration date).

Mobile Wallet Services

Add any eligible Scotiabank credit card to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay to easily make payments with your mobile device. It’s convenient - you can use your phone to pay at any merchant that accepts tap. It’s also secure - your card information is never shared with the merchant.

Stay safe with these simple tips

  • Do not pick a Personal Identification Number (PIN) which is too familiar, easily identified or can be guessed by someone else, like your name, 1234, your birthdate, or your telephone number.
  • Do not write your PIN down or share it with anyone. As long as you keep your PIN confidential, only you will be able to use it. If you suspect that someone else knows your PIN, you should change it immediately.
  • Use your hand or body to shield your PIN when you’re making purchases at any checkout terminal or when using an ABM.
  • Review your monthly statements. If you notice unusual activity on your credit card, call the number on the back of your credit card and report it immediately.
  • Never let anyone use your credit card.
