Genshin Impact: In Search Of Lost Time Complete Walkthrough (2024)

In Search of Lost Time is a lengthy Quest that rewards a couple of Chests and an Achievement in Genshin Impact. Players need to help Broglie, a Hydrology Researcher, retrieve some monitoring data that sunk down along with the hydrology research stations.

There are three locations Travelers must visit to help Broglie and each one has its own Quest in Genshin Impact. The In Search of Lost Time can only be triggered if the three previous Quests are completed: North, West, and South.

In Search Of Lost Time: South Quest In Genshin Impact

Luckily, players who haven't completed the Archon Quest can still do the In Search of Lost Time Quest as they are not related.

To trigger the In Search of Lost Time: South Quest, head to the New Fontaine Research Institute Waypoint and go southwest towards the broken bridge near the water. Speak with the distraught Broglie and accept his request once he explains the situation.

Next, follow the Quest marker to the sunken research station and go inside to find a deactivated console inside the control room. Interact with the floating books to read the Conch Madeline Stop Safe Operating Procedures note, which reveals that the fixed energy storage device is below the console, and it must be online for it to activate.

Get out of the control room and swim down towards the enemy in Genshin Impact. Defeat it using the nearby Jellyfish’s Ability and then activate the Crystal Mechanism to open the main door briefly.

Swim inside quickly and use the activated console. Players will now enter a point of view in which they must transfer energy from one device to another by following these steps:

• Focus on the red lens to change the POV.
• Change it yet again by focusing on the red lens in the middle.
• Change the POV one more time.
• Move the lens down and absorb the energy from the blue device.
• Return to the deactivated device to release the energy inside.

Swim back to the control room and activate the console to get the monitoring data. Head to the shore and give the data to Broglie to complete the In Search of Lost Time: South Quest.

In Search Of Lost Time: West Quest In Genshin Impact

To trigger the In Search of Lost Time: West Quest, travel to the tower found north of the Mont Esus East, and climb to the top. After defeating a couple of Fatui Skirmishers in Genshin Impact, players will realize that the final floor is blocked and completing the Quest is the only way to open it.

From the blocked staircase, go down and read the paper on the table. There are two Fatui camps Travelers must visit to find out more information about the tower; one near the broken bridge and the other near a cliff.

The first can be found west of the tower, but it doesn’t have any vital information. The second camp, on the other hand, is located southeast of the tower and contains a clue.

To force the hidden Fatui Skirmishers to come down from the tower, strike the cooking pot. Shumilov comes running along with two other team members in Genshin Impact. Defeat the enemies then go back to the tower and climb to the highest floor.

Activate the Stabilizer and hit it when the circle is around the blue zone. Climb the ladder and claim the Precious Chest in Genshin Impact, then activate the console to get monitoring data.

In Search Of Lost Time: North Quest In Genshin Impact

Triggering the In Search of Lost Time: North Quest is possible by traveling northwest of the New Fontaine Research Institute to investigate another tower. Climb it from the side using the wooden ladder and head inside to hear voices from downstairs. Sadly, the path is blocked.

Interact with the energy transfer terminal and complete the following steps:

• Take the energy from the blue container, which will open the barrier on the stairs.
• If players wish to open the cage, then change the POV using the only red lens.
• Pour the energy inside the deactivated device, next to the cage.
• Open the cage to claim the Common Chest, then go down the previously locked floor to defeat a few enemies in Genshin Impact.
• From downstairs, take the energy transfer deviceand go back upstairs to place it near the cage.

• Interact with the console again and transfer the energy from the fixed device to the transfer device after changing the POV.
• Pick up the container and go up the stairs to place it next to the deactivated console.

• Turn it on to unlock the upper floor then grab the transfer device again and put it next to the Stabilizer on the recently unlocked floor.
• Activate the Stabilizer and climb the wooden ladder.

Open the second Precious Chest and take the monitoring data from the console for later.

In Search Of Lost Time Quest In Genshin Impact

In Search of Lost Time is automatically triggered once players complete the previous three Quests in Genshin Impact. Fast-travel to the New Fontaine Research Institute and speak with Broglie. Follow the Quest marker to the central processing station and wait for the Hydrology Researcher to open the gate to claim a Luxurious Chest in Genshin Impact. Allow Broglie to tinker with the console on the lower floor only to be interrupted by Malinovskyi.

The Fatui runs away and Travelers must chase him down only to realize that Malinovskyi blocked all exits. Activate the console and move the energy from the fixed device to the transfer device on top of the bookshelf. Grab the container and place it next to the deactivated console to unlock the window.

Swim to the entrance of the sunken institute and dive to activate the console. Again, move the energy from one device to another to unlock the door. Ambush the unsuspecting Malinovskyi, and he will run away once his health is almost spent. Follow him by jumping into the water from the window and then using the underwater currents to reach the surface.

Defeat the Fatui Skirmisher again and forcefully take the stolen monitoring data and give them to Broglie. With that, players receive The Forgotten RealmAchievement in Genshin Impact and the Quest is complete.
