One of my all-time favorite flavor combinations is cilantro and lime, hands down. There’s something about the duo that I find so satisfying. Truth be told, I have yet to meet a cilantro lime recipe that I didn’t like. This avocado mayonnaise with cilantro and lime hit the spot.
Don't forget to PIN it for later! ?
Unfortunately, many of my past go-to dishes combining the two ingredients aregrain-based and high in carbs. My killer panko-crusted chicken with cilantro-lime butter or “healthy” cilantro lime quinoa salad just doesn't cut it on the keto diet.
I was craving this combination, racking my brain as to how I could best shovel cilantro-lime goodness into my mouth. Then it hit me: I need to make a condiment and apply generously to EVERYTHING in sight.
So I did: avocado mayonnaise with cilantro andlime! It’s perfect for dipping snacks and spreading onto, well, everything. Just as I intended. I rarely use the word “obsessed”, but I feel it may be okay in this context. It’s so effing good.
Not only does this recipe taste amazing, but it is also freakishly simple to make! There are just four ingredients total and NO cooking required. Bust out your blender, throw your ingredients in, and voila: cilantro lime heaven.
If you wanted to satisfy your ultra foodie side, you could make your own mayonnaise rather than use store bought. But for the sake of simplicity, I used good ol’ mayo from the tub.
Try it as:
- A salad dressing
- Dip for veggies or low carb chips/fries
- Condiments on a bun-free burger or sandwich
The avocado mayonnaiseoffers fat while keeping the carb count to a minimum. It’s perfectly compliant with your ketogenic diet but does packquite a few calories. You can use a reduced fat mayo to cut back on the fat content if you are limiting your fat intake.
Try it and let me know what you think! And if you have any suggestions for satisfying the cilantro-lime craving, be sure to share in the comments below!

What about an alternative to Mayo here? Can I just use Olive Oil or Avocado Oil and maybe a thickener like Chia seeds? I'm on Keto, but mostly trying to stay away from Dairy outside of egg whites.

Just Mayo is a vegan mayo brand that is super tasty. I can't even tell the difference.

I know this is an old post-but thought I'd say something for those who read this. Mayo is super easy to make, especially with a stick blender, and usual ingredients are: oil, egg whites, vinegar or lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Some add a bit of mustard also. So if you do eat eggs you certainly can enjoy mayo on a low-carb, vegetarian diet.
